BEAVER — A multiple vehicle crash occurred on southbound I-15 due to blowing dust Friday evening.
The dust created limited visibility, and several cars traveling south between mile posts 78 and 109 were involved in accidents on 1-15.
Two separate crashes occured, the first involving six vehicles and the second involving seven vehicles.
There was only one serious, non life-threatening injury, with other minor injuries being reported.
Iron County's Sgt. Royce said the crashes around 4 p.m. when a dust storm kicked up, limiting visibility issues.
Driver Kimberlee Powers Almond said the storm was so bad it looked like thick fog and visibility was less than 50 feet.
The freeway was closed for some time as emergency personnel waited for the dust to clear before removing the vehicles and debris.
