Owners Eric and Joilyn (joy-lynn) Anderson love Provo where their store is located. Eric says it's a great market for this business because citizens likes to date, go to movies, be out and have fun, so of course chocolate fits perfectly with all those activities. Not to mention the thriving business climate. Forbes Magazine recently named Provo No. 1 on its list of Best Places for Business and Careers.
Eric and Joilyn are pleased to be a part of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate family, which now has 365 franchises worldwide, in far off places such as Japan, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Locally, the Anderson's store can be found in the Riverwoods Shopping Center in Provo. They have eight employees working for them. It's a great place to work, plus employees can take care of their sweet tooth at work and take a treat home at the end of the day. So when you ask them what's good, they can tell you.
By the way, running this business is a major endeavor for the Andersons. Eric is a full-time firefighter/paramedic for a local emergency services organization while Joilyn is a real estate agent in addition to running Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. But Joilyn still runs and manages day-to-day operations of the business.
Their philosophy is if you're going to have a treat, make it a high-quality treat so the calories are worthwhile. The extensive selection at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory also includes fudge, truffles and rice crispy treats. There's also a selection of boxed chocolates you can get for yourself or someone special.
