Claw Machine-Toddler

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say a toddler has been reunited with his mother after employees found him playing inside a claw crane machine at a Nebraska bowling alley.

Lincoln police say a 24-year-old woman called 911 Monday afternoon because her 3-year-old son was missing from her apartment.

Employees at the bowling alley across the street meanwhile called police to say a small boy was playing with stuffed animals inside the coin-operated machine.

It was unclear how the boy ended up inside the claw crane machine. A representative from the vending machine company let him out and he was reunited with his mother a short time later. He was not hurt.

Police say the mother was not cited because she quickly reported that her son was missing and there were no indications of neglect.

Chocolate Factory Closed

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A popular Philadelphia chocolate maker and candy store has been shuttered by the city days before Easter.

WPVI-TV said Wednesday the Department of Revenue revoked the business license of the Blasius Chocolate Factory in the city's Kensington neighborhood.

The small company has been hand-making chocolates since the 1920s. It's noted for its buttercreams and giant Easter eggs.

City officials say the business was delinquent in paying taxes. The city says it sent numerous warnings.

Owner Phillip Kerwick says he tried to negotiate his $12,000 tax bill but city officials didn't appear for the court hearing. He says he's being harassed by city revenue officials.

Dog-Jury Duty

BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) — Could this prospective juror take a bite out of crime?

Cumberland County, N.J., has summoned IV Griner to jury duty. The only problem is that IV is a 5-year-old German shepherd.

Her owner tells KYW-TV in Philadelphia he sorted out the confusion soon after the summons arrived at his Bridgeton home.

The dog's owner is Barrett Griner IV. He uses the Roman numeral for four in his name. He named his dog using the letters "I'' and "V."

The county's judiciary coordinator says the computer likely mistook the Roman numeral for Griner's first name and mailed the summons.

Knife In Enchilada

SONOMA, Calif. (AP) — A woman is facing a possible fine after federal officials say they found a knife inside an enchilada in her bag during security screening at a Northern California airport.

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Nico Melendez says the 8 and a-half inch long blade was found Monday at the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.

The passenger, who has not been identified, said she made the enchilada over the weekend, and didn't know how the knife got into the bag. She was questioned by Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies, but then cleared to board her flight.

Melendez says the TSA will review the case, and the passenger could be issued a fine for carrying a concealed weapon.

Chelsea Clinton

NEW YORK (AP) — Chelsea Clinton says she might run for office someday — if she becomes dissatisfied with the job her elected representatives are doing.

But so far, she says, she's happy with Mayor Bill de Blasio (dih BLAH'-zee-oh), her representatives in Congress and her city councilwoman.

The 34-year-old daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is quoted in Fast Company magazine.

She acknowledges that she's always denied any interest in politics. But she says that was "a visceral no," and she hadn't made any well-thought-out decision.

Clinton says she feels now that if she became unhappy with some officeholder, she might come to a different answer.

Clinton is working for her father's foundation. She lives in Manhattan with husband Marc Mezvinsky.
