TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Jahii Carson has made it official: He's headed to the NBA.
The Arizona State point guard said before his sophomore season that it would be his last with the Sun Devils and he stayed true to his word by declaring for the NBA draft on Wednesday.
Carson spent three years at Arizona State, playing two after sitting out as an academic non-qualifier as a freshman.
The 5-foot-11 guard was a two-time All-Pac-12 first team selection and averaged 18.6 points, 4.6 assists and 4 rebounds while leading the Sun Devils to the NCAA tournament this year for the first time since 2009.
Though undersized, Carson is explosive and has a quick first step, leading to projections that he'll be picked in the second round of the June 26 NBA draft.
