PROVO, Utah (AP) — Prosecutors will detail the role they say a teenage girl played in a crime spree that left a sheriff's deputy and the girl's boyfriend dead following a police pursuit. Meagan Grunwald will appear in a Provo courtroom today for an evidence hearing as prosecutors try to convince a judge there's enough evidence to try the teenager for aggravated murder and other charges.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Investigators are examining DNA from the babies found dead in the garage of a woman's home in suburban Salt Lake City. Thirty-nine-year-old Megan Huntsman has acknowledged killing the babies and faces murder charges. Authorities want to determine who the parents are and how long ago the babies died.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The University of Utah will continue to use its Ute name and logo under a new agreement with the Ute Tribal Business Committee. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that in exchange, the U. will make efforts to recruit more students from the Ute Indian Tribe under a memorandum signed yesterday by U. and tribe leaders.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Symphony has announced it will play against southern Utah's soaring red rocks and canyons this August. The 75-piece orchestra will tour five of the state's national parks in a series of free concerts at Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands. Music Director Thierry Fischer will lead works designed to complement the environment.
