LONDON (AP) — The Russian city of Kazan will host the 2016 world junior athletics championships.

The decision was announced on Wednesday by the International Association of Athletics Federations at its council meeting in Dakar, Senegal.

The championships will be held in the 22,600-capacity Central Stadium.

Kazan, which hosted the World University Games in 2013, will also stage next year's world swimming championships.
