ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Big Macher won the $200,000 Potrero Grande Stakes by a nose over 7-5 favorite Wild Dude at Santa Anita on Saturday.
Ridden by Tyler Baze, Big Macher ran 6½ furlongs in 1:14.97 and paid $6.20, $3.20 and $2.80 as the second choice in the wagering in the field of eight older horses.
Wild Dude returned $2.60 and $2.20, while Cylcometer was another 1 ¾ lengths back in third and paid $5.20 to show.
The victory, worth $120,000, increased Big Macher's career earnings to $316,428, with four wins in 10 starts.
In the $100,000 Las Cienegas Stakes for older fillies and mares, Tribal Sky won by a head.
