AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas quarterback David Ash is sidelined again.

The school said Friday that the senior fractured a bone in his left foot during spring practice and will undergo surgery next week. Head football trainer Anthony Pass says that will put Ash out of action for the rest of the spring workout season, but he is expected to return to action in time for preseason camp.

Less than three months ago, Ash was cleared to participate in spring drills after missing most of the 2013 season with effects of a concussion suffered in the second game of the season against BYU. Ash returned two weeks later but played just one half against Kansas State before he was pulled and benched for the rest of the season.
