ANKENY, Iowa (AP) — A 33-year-old teacher has been accused of sexually exploiting a former student at Ankeny High School.

Authorities say Mandy Davenport, of Des Moines, is charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee. Ankeny police say the youth involved is a 17-year-old boy.

On Monday Davenport resigned her job as a language arts teacher at Ankeny Centennial High School. Davenport was placed on leave April 4. A schools representative says Davenport worked at Ankeny High for three years before moving to Ankeny Centennial.

A public phone listing for her couldn't be found. Online court records don't list the name of her attorney.
