SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A prominent Utah philanthropist who championed religious, artistic and educational causes has died. Lewena "Tye" Noorda was 90. Her husband, Raymond Noorda, was chairman of the Novell software company. The couple's many donations included a $30 million gift for a health science building at the University of Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 42-year-old former truck driver is charged in a series of robberies at Salt Lake City banks. Police say they identified Christopher Huntzinger through fingerprints and surveillance video. Prosecutors say Huntzinger robbed six banks and credit unions downtown and in surrounding foothills from January to March.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 23-year-old math teacher and basketball coach has been sentenced to 18 months' probation for having sex with one of her students at Riverton High School in the Salt Lake City suburbs. Prosecutors say Courtney Jarrell had a sexual relationship with the girl, who was 17 at the time. Jarrell's attorney says the relationship was consensual.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — University of Utah students are looking at changes to the school's fight song to remove lyrics that some consider sexist, like "our coeds are the fairest." Student government president Sam Ortiz says the fight song should be as inclusive as possible to honor campus diversity. University officials would have to approve any changes.
