CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada prison inmate serving up to life in prison has died at a Carson City hospital.

The Department of Corrections say 62-year-old Christopher Sevey had recently been hospitalized at Carson-Tahoe Regional Medical Center with a chronic medical condition. He died Monday and an autopsy is planned.

Sevey was convicted in Washoe County and was serving concurrent 15-year sentences for robbery and kidnapping. He also was sentenced to consecutive terms of five years to life with possible parole on charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and robbery with a deadly weapon.

He had been in prison since 1985.
