WASHINGTON'S BRANDY
MOUNT VERNON, Va. (AP) — Founding father George Washington was also a founding moonshiner. Beginning tomorrow, visitors to Washington's northern Virginia estate will be able to buy peach brandy just like the first president made. The staff at Mount Vernon has recreated the brandy using the same methods that would have been used at the estate in the 18th century. Only 400 bottles have been produced and they'll sell for 150 bucks each. In his day, Washington operated the largest distillery in America. He was best known for producing rye whiskey, some 11,000 gallons a year.

JUNK-BIZARRE FINDS
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Junk is junk -- but it also can be awfully weird. Ohio junk haulers report finding everything from cannon balls to boxes of dead mice in the homes they're hired clean out. Brian Keiser, owner of Trash Daddy, says they find a Christmas tree or a sex toy in almost every house they do. He tells the Columbus Dispatch the adult playthings have become a running joke for the staff. He says new employees finally feel part of the crew after finding their first vibrator.

JUNEAU BACONFEST
JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Bacon. Bacon. And even more bacon. The meat treat was celebrated at Alaska's second annual Juneau Baconfest. Not all the bacon there was for eating though, some was for wearing. Model Amy George wore a five pound bacon bustier. She says it was actually pretty comfortable. It was created by artist Lauralye Miko, who used pre-cooked bacon. Miko says the tough part was trying to keep her cats away as she made the bacon bustier. The Capital City Weekly reports Baconfest is a fundraiser for the Glacier Valley Rotary.
TAMPA FOOD TRUCKS-WORLD RECORD
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — It was food to go. More than 120 food trucks were part of a rally at the Florida State Fairgrounds over the weekend. Fair spokeswoman Jennifer O'Brien says the event set a new Guinness World Record for the largest food truck parade. The previous record was 62 trucks set in Miami last year. The Tampa Bay Times reports about 170 trucks were part of this weekend's event, but only trucks that had pictures of food were included in the official count.
PUBLIX-BAG BOY TO VP
LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. (AP) — Bill Fauerbach is a former grocery store bag boy made good. He started bagging groceries at a Publix store in Florida and rose to be a vice president of the chain. He retired last week, but wanted to end his career the same way he started. So, Friday Fauerbach returned to the store in Lighthouse Point to bag. He was chatting with customers and made sure their bread didn't get crushed.
ROCK CLIMBING LAWSUIT
NEW YORK (AP) — Jonathan Stock claims he should have been warned to stay of the rocks. Stock is a personal trainer who hurt himself climbing a boulder in a New York park. He's suing the city and park managers. Stock says there should have been a no-climbing sign on the 8-to-10-foot-tall stone in Manhattan's Hudson River Park. Stock says he jumped on, tried to stand, fell and ruptured his Achilles tendon. The suit was first reported Sunday in the New York Post. No comment yet from city lawyers.
