FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Candidates who were nominated and endorsed Friday at the North Dakota Democratic Party convention in Fargo:

NAME: Kiara Kraus-Parr

BIRTHDATE: June 6, 1977, in Milwaukee, Wis.

RUNNING FOR: Attorney General.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, political science, University of Mississippi; master's degree, political science, University of Tennessee; law degree, University of North Dakota.

OCCUPATION: Attorney, Kraus-Parr Law in Grand Forks.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: This is her first campaign for public office.

FAMILY: Married to Mark Jendrysik.

NAME: Jason Astrup

BIRTHDATE: June 11, 1979, in Jamestown.

RUNNING FOR: Tax Commissioner.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, business administration, Jamestown College; law degree, University of North Dakota.

OCCUPATION: Attorney, Astrup Law Office in Fargo.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: This is his first campaign for public office.

FAMILY: Married to Jamie Astrup.

NAME: Tyler Axness

BIRTHDATE: Dec. 26, 1986, in Devils Lake.

RUNNING FOR: Public Service Commissioner (special two-year term).

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, political science, North Dakota State University.

OCCUPATION: Communications and policy coordinator, Freedom Resource Center in Fargo.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Elected to the North Dakota Senate in 2012 from District 16 in Fargo.

FAMILY: Single.

NAME: Ryan Taylor

BIRTHDATE: July 22, 1970, in Rugby.

RUNNING FOR: Agriculture Commissioner.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degrees, agricultural economics and mass communications, North Dakota State University.

OCCUPATION: Rancher, businessman and writer.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Elected to the North Dakota Senate in 2002, lost to Jack Dalrymple in 2012 governor's race. Has served as McHenry County commissioner since 2013.

FAMILY: Married to Nikki Taylor; three children.
