MOAB, Utah (AP) — Zion National Park officials have identified the body of a well-known California BASE jumper that marked the third recent death by adventurers parachuting from Utah cliffs. Sean Leary's body was spotted by a helicopter crew on Sunday and was recovered yesterday. Last month a Salt Lake City woman died in the park when her parachute failed to open. On Friday, a Moab man was killed jumping west of Moab.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors have dropped felony charges against a Bountiful girls' soccer coach accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old player. Deputy Davis County Attorney Cristina Ortega tells the Salt Lake Tribune she dismissed the case against 42-year-old Steven Dale Green because she didn't see reasonable likelihood of a conviction.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Some Utah residents who might have overpaid for e-books will receive shares of a nationwide settlement this week. The Utah Attorney General's Office says the state is getting $1.5 million of a $166 million settlement with five e-book publishers: Hachette, HarperCollins. Simon & Shuster, Holtzbrinck and Penguin Group.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is asking for help to raise pheasant chicks. It wants to bolster the state's pheasant population before the hunting season begins in November. The agency is asking Utah residents to adopt the chicks in May and raise the birds until fall, when they will be released into the wild.
