FILLMORE — Fallon Nicholson, 12, is in stable condition Sunday after she was pinned underneath a rolled car on I-15 near mile post 140, about 25 miles south of Fillmore.

Rachelle Nicholson, 39, was driving south on I-15 when she drifted left into the median and over-corrected, causing her vehicle to swerve across traffic and roll off the right side of the highway around 7:15 a.m. Saturday, according to Sgt. Jacob Cox of Utah Highway Patrol.

Traveling in the Mazda car with Nicholson were Fallon Nicholson, who was laying in the backseat unrestrained, and Felicia Nicholson, 17, in the passenger seat.

Fallon Nicholson was ejected as the car overturned and she became trapped underneath it. Witnesses were able to lift the car off of her, and she was flown to Primary Children's Hospital.

Felicia Nicholson said she woke up lying on the trunk through the rear window.

Rachelle Nicholson is being investigated for possible impaired driving. Both she and Felicia Nicholson were transported to Fillmore Community Medial Center.

Cox added Sunday that "no arrests have been made at this time and will not be made until the case is screened through the county attorney's office."
