RIVERTON — A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries Friday after she was hit by a truck.
Police responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a pickup truck around 7 a.m. at 13279 S. 2700 West. The male driver of the truck, 33, had just dropped his child off at daycare and was pulling out of a horseshoe drive when the vehicle hit a woman who was on the sidewalk, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.
The woman, 71, was taken by a ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center with serious head injuries.
Police have not released the driver's name or the woman's name.
As of Friday afternoon, the woman was still seriously injured but improving, Hoyal said.
An investigation of the incident will determine whether or not the man will face charges. Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
