Ashley Hayes ReportingA man arrested for murder in an Ogden shooting last night is in jail this evening, but before being arrested, he raced away from a Davis County Sheriff's deputy.
Police say it started in Ogden as a fight and ended in murder.
"We don't know yet why they got into an argument, but they obviously got into an argument and then our suspect pulled out a weapon and shot our victim."
In fact, the suspect shot him three times. Twenty-three year old Tyler Harper died immediately.
For law enforcement, this was just the beginning. They say after 24-year-old Joseph Lee shot Tyler Harper, he sped off.
A Davis County Sheriff's Deputy heard the alert for the suspect and waited off the interstate. He spotted Lee heading South.
The deputy tried to pull Lee over on 1-15 near Farmington, but Lee fled in his Chevy Malibu at 100 miles an hour.
Police video shows Lee weaving in and out of traffic before exiting on Parrish Lane. He continued speeding, hopping the curb to turn on Market Street.
Sgt Scott Harper, Davis Co Sheriff's Deputy: "They did go through a gas station and market area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then came back to the location where it has crashed."
After crashing into the median, authorities say, Lee got out of his car and started running. They finally arrested him at gunpoint outside a gas station.
Tonight Lee is inside the Weber County jail. He is being held without bond.
