TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki has repealed the state of emergency that has been in place since the outbreak of a popular revolution three years ago.

A presidential decree Thursday says the state of emergency ordered in 2011 is repealed across the whole of Tunisia as of Wednesday.

The 2011 uprising led to the overthrow of longtime President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
