SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Federal authorities in Puerto Rico have seized $30 million worth of cocaine and charged two men with drug smuggling.
U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez says agents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection found more than 1,100 kilograms (2,400 pounds) aboard a boat headed toward Puerto Rico with two men who claimed to be from the Dominican Republic.
She said Tuesday that the U.S. Coast Guard detected the boat more than 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Ponce, Puerto Rico's second largest city.
