SALT LAKE CITY — Having to win a play-in game hasn’t slowed the Highland Rams in their 4A Playoff run. Highland beat Woods Cross 60-56 on Thursday for the chance to meet Timpview in the first round.

Timpview was the No. 1-seed and the heavy favorite, but Highland hit nine three’s and shot 55.6 percent from the field to upset the T-Birds in the opening round.

Highland was led by Henry Morris and his 24 points. Brandon Warr had a very efficient night scoring 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Each player made 3-of-5 from three-point range.

Highland jumped out to a big 41-22 lead at the half and held on as Timpview couldn’t overcome the big first half deficit.

Timpview was led by Britain Covey’s 19 points.

Highland will play Olympus on Wednesday in the 4A Quarterfinals. The game will begin at 4:10 p.m. at the Huntsman Center.
