--------------------- DAYBOOK UPDATES FOR TODAY:

1) 1:30 p.m. - DOD BUDGET BRIEFING - Senior Department of Defense (DoD) and military service officials will brief the press on the fiscal year 2015 DoD budget and the 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review today, Tuesday, March 4, beginning at 1:30 p.m. EST in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973). Senior DoD officials will provide the first briefings and take questions from the media. Military services and the Missile Defense Agency will brief in the following order:

Maj. Gen Karen Dyson, director, Army Budget, and Davis Welch, deputy director, Army Budget, will brief on the Army's FY 2015 budget at 2:30 p.m.

Rear Adm. William Lescher, deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for Budget, will brief on the Navy's FY 2015 budget at 3:15 p.m.

Maj. Gen. Jim Martin, Air Force director of Budget, will brief on the Air Force FY 2015 budget at 4 p.m.

Vice Adm. James Syring, director, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), will brief on the MDA FY 2015 budget at 4:45 p.m.


The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy and senior EPA officials will hold a press conference call today, Tuesday, March 4 at 2:00 PM. EST to discuss the agency's budget for Fiscal Year 2015.

Members of the media interested in participating should dial in ten minutes prior to the beginning of the call at 877-317-0679 and give the conference ID number 7721631. The name of the call is the EPA Budget Press Call.

3) Due to inclement weather, the Senate Banking Committee has postponed the confirmation hearing for today.
