LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The University of Kentucky Transfer Center is opening the doors to its new facility to students, faculty, staff and administrators on Tuesday.

Transfer Center Director Mike Shanks says it's important that the entire university community take part in welcoming transfer students.

The center is located in the Funkhouser Building and is meant to offer one-stop shopping for students trying to learn about transferring credits, scholarships and other issues they may face.

The center also will take part Wednesday in an online virtual college fair. The Kentucky Community and Technical College System says students can register in advance at http://transfermadness.org then connect with prospective colleges from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST.

The fair is for college students who want to transfer and high school students planning to attend a community/technical college en route to a four-year degree.
