GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Andy Wilkins hit a three-run homer in the first inning, and Hector Gimenez added a tiebreaking double in the sixth to lift the Chicago White Sox over the Kansas City Royals 9-7 on Monday.

The White Sox scored three in the first off starter Jeremy Guthrie, making his first appearance of the spring. Alejandro De Aza singled and moved to third on Marcus Simien's hit-and-run single to right. Wilkins, a first baseman making a rare start, homered over the bullpen in right field.

Guthrie allowed four hits and three runs in two innings. Chicago starter Jose Quintana gave up two runs and two hits in three innings. Johnny Giavotella tripled in one run and then scored on Jarrod Dyson's single.

Conor Gillaspie also had a two-run double for Chicago. Jorge Bonifacio drove in three runs for the Royals, two on an eighth-inning home run.
