TRUCKEE, Calif. (AP) — Federal officials are investigating after a single-engine plane crashed a few miles from the Truckee Tahoe Airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer says a Piper PA-46 Malibu crashed Monday on Marias Peak, about three or four miles southeast of the airport.
Information about the person or people on board wasn't immediately available.
It was unknown why the plane crashed.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
