CEDAR CITY — One year ago, Desert Hills was dealing with the devastation of losing a state championship game at the buzzer.
Now they can celebrate.
The Thunder completed a dominant season with a 57-43 win over Morgan in the 3A girls state basketball championship.
Blair Bliss had 17 points for the Thunder who finally claimed the championship. They lost a heartbreaker to Dixie in 2013 when a three-point shot at the buzzer was waved off.
They removed all doubt this time, holding No. 2 Morgan to just 29.8 percent shooting.
Rashel Blazzard led Morgan with 14 points in the loss. They got within five points with 3:00 left in the third quarter, but the Thunder used a 10-3 run to put the game away.
