IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a 68-year-old Blackfoot man from the Snake River. The search was launched Friday night after Birch didn't return from a fishing trip.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho prosecutor has concluded the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man by Coeur d'Alene police officers was justified. Kootenai County prosecutors say Christian Nicholas Buquet posed an immediate and continuing danger to lives. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports police say Buquet wounded one person and then fired random shots at others. Officers killed Buquet after a 5-mile car chase.

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho jury has awarded $56,000 to an excavation crew foreman who said he was fired for reporting safety violations on the Sand Creek Byway. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports the jury on Friday voted in favor of Jay Nelson's claims against Parsons RCI. Nelson said he was wrongfully fired in 2010 for going over the head of a supervisor to report what he said were numerous safety violations by another heavy equipment operator.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Police in Nampa say they are investigating a series of residential thefts involving appliances. Lt.
