WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry is going to Ukraine this week. A senior administration official says Kerry will fly to Kiev on Tuesday to meet with officials. The Western nations are weighing a response to Russia's military actions there. Kerry has raised the possibility of economic sanctions and visa bans, freezing Russian assets and levying trade and investment penalties.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The weather is expected to play havoc with travel in the eastern two thirds of the nation. Another winter storm is expected to dump up to a foot of snow Monday on parts of the East Coast. It's already thrashed the nation's midsection with a mix of freezing rain and heavy snow. Thousands of fights are canceled or delayed and Amtrak is trimming some of its schedules.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America says the Walt Disney Company's decision to cut funding to the organization in 2015 will affect its ability to serve children. Disney objects to BSA's policy that bans gay adult leaders. Disney donates money to some Boy Scout troops in exchange for volunteer hours completed by Disney employees.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea says North Korea has fired two additional suspected short-range missiles into the sea amid ongoing military exercises between Seoul and Washington. The Defense Ministry says the latest launches come after South Korea's announcement that North Korea fired four short-range Scud missiles into the North's waters last Thursday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "12 Years a Slave" has won the best picture Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards. Also winning Oscars for best actress and best actor were Cate Blanchett for "Blue Jasmine" and Matthew McConaughey for "Dallas Buyers Club." Lupita Nyong'o of "12 Years a Slave," and Jared Leto of "Dallas Buyers Club" took supporting acting honors. The Academy Awards were handed out Sunday night in Los Angeles.
