PAROWAN — Fire crews responded to a fire at a storage facility belonging to Stone Castle Recycling in Parowan Sunday.

Around 11 a.m., Parowan, Paragonah and Brian Head fire departments found debris on fire in the center of the electronic recycling company’s outside storage located at 1338 W. 200 South, according to Parowan Fire Chief David Schiers.

Members of the crews were able to contain enough of the flames that many of the materials within storage were able to be removed unburned with heavy equipment, creating more access for the firefighters to deal with the remaining fire.

The crews were able to extinguish the fire using foam and water.

Traffic was diverted on state Route 143 for a short time.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
