SALT LAKE CITY — For those on a budget looking for an activity of the feathered kind during the month of March, the Tracy Aviary just might have the answer.
To attract more visitors during the colder months, the aviary has been offering “Winter Wednesdays." Every Wednesday through the end of March, admission to the park is just $1.
The dollar admission is considered a donation toward conservation efforts and the aviary’s endangered species special protection program, according to the aviary’s website.
Those planning on visiting the aviary on a Wednesday in March should keep in mind that crowds can be heavy on those days, so plan accordingly.
- Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
- Located at 589 E. 1300 South in the southwest corner of Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.
- Check TracyAviary.org for information regarding daily shows and events.
Tracy Aviary has been around since 1938 when wealthy Salt Lake City banker Russell Lord Tracy donated his large collection of birds to Liberty Park. Since its first few years as a bird sanctuary, the aviary has grown into a conservation and education center and attracts over 80,000 visitors every year.
