(KSL News) Call it shoplifting for a purpose. Orem police say two people tried to rob a Shopko in order to bail a friend out of jail.
Employees called for assistance when they spotted Christian Perez and Stephanie Wilson stuffing dozens of DVDs and electronic items into a duffel bag. Officers arrested the pair when they walked out with the stolen loot.
Investigators asked the couple why they shoplifted, and the couple said they planned to pawn the stolen items for cash and use the money for their friend's bail.
