HOLLYWOOD — Local rock band Imagine Dragons is about to break a coveted Billboard record.
The band, which formed in Provo, is about to break the record for weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 with its song “Radioactive.”
The song is currently on the chart for its 76th week, which ties the record with Jason Mraz’ “I’m Yours” which spent 76 weeks on the Hot 100 in 2008-09.
“Radioactive” currently sits at No. 23, a drop from 13 where it was logged a week before.
According to Billboard.com, “Radioactive” is likely to beat Mraz’s record considering its high ranking on the chart at week 76. Right on the heels of Imagine Dragons is AWOLNATION's “Sail” which has been on the Hot 100 for 75 weeks.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, “Radioactive” has sold 6.6 million downloads and the songs “Demons” and “On Top of the World” are also on Billboard’s Hot 100. “Demons” is 16 and “On Top of the World” sits at 93.
