LOGAN — A man is in court for allegedly enticing a 15-year-old girl to a hotel room through the Internet and then engaging in unlawful sexual activity.

Joshua L. Peterson, 40, was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor and enticing a minor over the Internet in July. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, according to court documents.

Logan police said Peterson arranged to meet a 15-year-old girl from Cache Valley in a hotel and then engaged in sexual activity with her after they met online. His address lists him as being from South Jordan.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for March 3 in Logan's First District Court.

The same girl is also involved in a similar court case in Syracuse, according to the Logan Police Department.
