Healthy eating doesn't mean you have to avoid your favorite treats!

Sage's Cafe, who's menu focuses on vegetarian and organic foods, also has a sweet side. The restaurant also just relocated recently to 900 South 234 West.

This is owner and chef Ian Brandt's recipe for Tea Cakes.

2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup powder sugar

1 cup almond meal, blanched

1 1/2 teaspoon corn starch

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup oil (canola, non-gmo)

2 tablespoons of water

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients. Mix in all wet ingredients with dry ingredients.

Form into small balls with a scooper (can add a little more water if necessary). Place on baking sheet on top of parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cookies are light brown. Let cool, and then toss into powdered sugar and enjoy!
