SANDY — A police chase through Sandy caused multiple accidents Tuesday, investigators said.
The chase ended at 12100 S. 1700 East, according to the Utah County Major Crimes Taskforce. The driver who lead the chase was arrested.
One accident was reported at 11250 S. 700 East, but no one was seriously injured in any of the accidents.
Residents witnessing the chase said speeds reached up to 70 miles per hour through their street — and it happened just as their children were getting out of school.
"And I heard squeal of tires and thump, heard the crash followed immediately by sirens," said Sandy resident, Rick Black. "It looked like church let out and they were chasing the car because they were vans — it wasn't police cars."
