SALT LAKE CITY — Police were looking Friday for a man who they believe was upset with the cost of his car repair bill and reacted by firing at least three shots.
No one was injured in the incident.
Just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, a customer got into an argument with an employee at an auto repair shop at 1407 W. Indiana Ave. The man was reportedly upset about the cost of some ongoing repair work, said Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.
The argument culminated when the man pulled out a handgun and threatened employees at the shop. He then got in his car to leave, firing three shots as he drove off, McGowan said.
Investigators weren't sure Friday if the man was aiming at anyone or purposely firing into the air. No one was injured and the auto shop was not hit, the detective said. Three shell casings were recovered at the scene.
Because the man had received some ongoing repair work, detectives believed they know whom they were looking for.
