PROVO — The Utah County Health Department is offering community immunization clinics in time for the holidays.
Clinics will be held at the following locations and times:
• Springville, Friday, Nov. 29, 2-4 p.m. at the Grant Building, 105 S. 400 West
• Payson, Monday, Dec. 2, 3-4 p.m. at Taylor Elementary, 40 S. 500 West; and on Dec. 3, 10 and 17, 5-7 p.m., at Payson City Center, 439 W. Utah Ave.
• Goshen, Monday, Dec. 9, 3-5 p.m. at Goshen Elementary, 60 N. Center
There will be no evening clinics at the Payson City Center Dec 24 or 31.
It takes 10 days or more for vaccines to offer full protection. Besides pertussis, flu, measles, hepatitis and other school vaccines, health department nurses administer adult and adolescent vaccines such as shingles, pneumonia, tetanus and diphtheria.
The Vaccine for Children program offers discounted vaccines for children who qualify, or the department accepts Altius, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, DMBA/Deseret Secure, EMI, Humana, SelectHealth, Medicare/Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicaid/PCN, Molina Healthy kids, PEHP and United Health Care.
