CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- A new state-of-the-art cancer facility is opening its doors today at Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City.
The three (M)million dollar center is located on the southeast corner of the hospital's campus.
Hospital officials say the center was name after Sandra L. Maxwell, a 67-year-old cancer survivor, who spearheaded a fundraising program. Maxwell says the center has been a community project.
Hospital officals say having a facility in Cedar City really helps out in the healing process. Cancer patients now don't have to drive long distances for radiation treatments.
The Sandra L. Maxwell Cancer Treatment Center is located at 1303 North Main in Cedar City.
