PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose has injured his right knee against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Rose left Friday night's game in the third quarter and did not return. The 2011 NBA MVP missed last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the 2012 playoffs.

Rose came out with 3:20 left in the third and was assisted to the locker room. He had 20 points and five rebounds. The Bulls announced midway through the fourth quarter that he would not return.

The top pick in the 2008 draft, Rose was averaging 15.4 points this season.
