BANGUI, Central African Republic (AP) - More than 100 judges and lawyers have taken to the streets of the capital in Central African Republic to protest the slaying of a colleague.
Modeste Martineau Bria, the director of judiciary services at the Justice Ministry, was killed about a week ago by the rebels who overthrew the government earlier this year.
On Friday, more than 100 people took part in the demonstration in Bangui, carrying a banner that read: "No to genocide."
Lawyer Emile Bizon says the march was organized to protest Bria's assassination and the "more and more frequent killings" taking place in the volatile country.
Rebels invaded the capital in March and have since been blamed for killing scores of civilians. International observers warn the country is now in a state of near anarchy.
