Two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank will star in a romantic comedy based on Irish author Cecilia Ahern's book "P.S., I Love You," the film industry press said Tuesday.

In the movie baring the same title as the book, Swank, 31, will play a widow who finds notes left by her late husband to guide her through her new life, according to Daily Variety.

Filming starts later this year in New York and Ireland.

Swank won the best actress Oscar for "Boys Don't Cry" in 2000 and for "Million Dollar Baby" in 2005.

Ahern is the daughter of Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern.
