SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify a man who allegedly robbed the same Maverik twice.
On Oct. 4, at 3:20 a.m., a man entered the Maverik on 676 N Redwood Road, and asked the clerk if he could use the bathroom, police said. The clerk told the man that the bathrooms were closed for cleaning. The man then picked out a few candy bars, returned to the register, presented a weapon and demanded money.
The man took some money and left the store on foot.
On Nov. 4, at 8:45 p.m., the same man came back to the Maverik and again presented a weapon and demanded money. The clerk told the man that the "register was locked and he did not have access," according to police.
The man began to climb over the counter when another customer entered the store, so the suspect ran out without obtaining any money, police said.
The man was described as a white male between the ages of 20 and 29 wearing a dark beanie, blue sweater and black pants with a stripe.
