SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police are searching for a person who they say stabbed a man in the street Wednesday morning.
An officer was driving near 235 South and 500 West when he saw two men fighting in the street. The officer started his siren to break up the fight and one man fled south on 500 West.
The other man, 35, was stabbed twice in the chest. He was transported in critical condition to a nearby hospital.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic adult male in his 20s, 6 feet 2 inches, 170 pounds. He was last wearing black jeans and a white shirt or white jacket. Police said there were a couple of witnesses who could help identify the suspect.
Police said this is the third stabbing in the past 24 hours in Salt Lake City. One person has been arrested, but two are still at large.
