ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A report of a possible kidnapping in Alaska drew a response of 20 police cars but turned out to be something more innocent.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says a girl was late for her school bus Tuesday morning in east Anchorage, and she and her father were trying to get it to stop. A witness called police about a man yelling and chasing after a girl.

Police descended on the area around Mountain View Car Wash.

Castro says surveillance video confirmed that the older man was running behind the girl but the original witness didn't see her safely get on the bus.

The Anchorage Daily News reports ( http://bit.ly/1aZlgIH) the girl reached school on time.
