Once she sent her last baby off to college, Tamara (tam-ah-rah) England knew she needed something else..... So, she thought, why not give birth to a store? Tamara had worked hard for others and was now ready to work hard for herself. So, a little over a year ago, she opened Touche in Bountiful as part of the newly renovated Main Street.
This is a great place to find a unique gift from a cool pair of Ugg Boots to a piece of Alex and Ani jewelry to a Vera Bradley travel bag. In fact, they have the largest selection of Vera Bradley items in the state ...
Tamara's husband, David, has been very supportive, in spirit and sweat... He was the one who put the beautiful wood floor into the store, then built the chalkboard up front along with the fireplace display...Tamara said it was family effort, and it continues to be at many different levels. For example, her daughter, a student at Weber State University, helps run the store, while her son helps with marketing.
The name Touche, ironically enough, came because it happened to be the word of the day on dictionary.com. She felt it had a little bit of attitude, but it was also something that really hit her.... It was a perfect fit. And Touche was born!
When people walk into Touche, it's designed so you feel like you're in a home so you can be comfortable, from the Rat Pack music playing on the stereo to the selection of candy in jars... It must be working — one of the best compliments they have received was from the district sales manager for a large jewelry company, who commented that Touche has "great positive energy."
You can also buy a healthy muffin or purchase the gummies and chocolates in the jars at Touche....There's also a candy cane caramel covered in white chocolate they can't keep in stock .... Just another example of why Utah is known as one of the top entrepreneurial states in the nation.
