SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- No road closures are planned and traffic is expected to be minimally affected by the visit of Mexican President Vicente Fox to Salt Lake City this week.
Fox's government airplane is to land on the general aviation side of Salt Lake City International Airport at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow.
The motorcade from the airport will be escorted by Utah Highway Patrol troopers and U-S Secret Service agents. Highway Patrol Sergeant Wade Breur said it is expected to have little effect on traffic.
West Valley City Police Captain Tom McLachlan said Fox's appearance at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center tomorrow will not be open to the public. The event is by invitation only.
There will be a designated site for protesters near the building.
McLachlan said police are expecting most protesters to show up later tomorrow night at the Governor's Mansion, where Fox will have a state dinner, and at the state Capitol on Wednesday morning.
The Utah Minutemen are organizing the protests.
