(AP) - People in 17 states found themselves temporarily unable to use their food stamp debit-style cards on Saturday, after a routine test of backup systems by vendor Xerox Corp. resulted in a system failure. Xerox spokeswoman Jennifer Wasmer listed the states affected in an emailed statement.
They are:

Illinois

Massachusetts
Maryland
Maine
Michigan
Mississippi
New Jersey
Ohio
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania

Virginia
