SALT LAKE CITY — Manti High School will host Game Night Live this Friday at 6 p.m. on KSL 5.

The Templars are two-time defending state champions, winning the 2A titles in 2011 and 2012 and have made a successful transition to 3A.

Manti is currently ranked third in 3A and will host fifth-ranked Juab. The Wasps enter the contest with a 5-2 record having won three straight games. Both teams are undefeated in the 3A South region and the winner will take sole possession of first place control of the No. 1 seed.

There are several great matchups across the state on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday that could impact region races.

Here are five games that stand out above the rest:

Bingham at Jordan, Friday 7 p.m.

No. 1 Bingham took care of business at home against Brighton. Now they must prepare for Austin Kafentzis and company who have won three straight games.

Rich at Duchesne, Friday 7 p.m.

These teams have combined to win the last four 1A state championships. They continue their rivalry Friday in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in what could be a preview of the state championship game.

Riverton at Herriman, Thursday 7 p.m. (KJZZ)

These neighboring schools have quickly formed a rivalry and their last two meetings have been overtime classics decided by a combined two points. They are now in the same region battling for a title which should only add to the intensity.

Juan Diego at Stansbury, Thursday 7 p.m.

Juan Diego is the last undefeated team in 3AA and look to be the favorites to win the title. Stansbury is also a contender and could make a huge statement by knocking off No. 1 on their home field. The winner takes control of the region race.

Morgan at Grantsville, Thursday 7 p.m.

These two schools have been playing each other since World War II. This will be the 77th meeting between the long time rivals and now they play in the same region and both still have region title aspirations.

Five more to watch: Lone Peak at Timpview (Wed.), Salem Hills at Springville (Wed.), Hunter at Taylorsville (Fri.) , Davis at Northridge (Thu.) and Box Elder at Sky View (Thu.).
