This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

If you're looking for an authentic Italian cuisine experience, you can probably trust someone who only left Italy about five years ago, like Vanina Pirollo (pih-roll-oh), owner of Cucina Vanina, , located at 1844 E. Fort Union Boulevard in Cottonwood Heights.

Vanina is originally from Naples, Italy but came to America, and to Utah in 2008, when her husband got a job working for the University of Utah....They were both working professionals there, but when she came here, Vanina couldn't use her child psychology degree, so she started cooking which is one of her life passions.

Today, Cucina Vanina, offers authentic Southern-style Italian cuisine, which is lighter, and includes more seafood. It's open for both lunch and dinner. The lunch menu includes smaller portions and a selection of Panini sandwiches, pastas and salads. Thursday evenings you can have homemade gnocchi (no-chee) made with flour, ricotta and parmesan cheese and Fridays are chef's special where he chooses the featured dish each week. Cucina Vanina has an active Facebook page that shares specials and events that are going on, like pairing wine and pasta each month.

This is the dedication Vanina brings to her restaurant. She cooks everything to order and is even willing to share her grandmother's authentic Italian recipes with her customers. She also considers the Italian food served at Cucina Vanina as being delivered with a sense of family, since that's what food means to her.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
