LEHI — Mascots from the NBA, NFL, Major League Soccer and Utah Universities gathered for a game of football Monday to raise money for charities.

The "mascot bowl" has been an ongoing fundraiser for 10 years at Lehi High School. The football game raises money for "Bear Hugs for Kids" and Firemen and Friends for Kids" to provide for holiday shopping for disadvantaged kids.

The team of mascots faced off with the Lehi 8th grade football team. The mascots team included the Utah Jazz Bear, Swoop from the University of Utah, Cosmo from Brigham Young University, and Miles from the Denver Broncos, along with several other team mascots.

The mascots team was coached by former coaches, Lavell Edwards and Ron McBride and Utah Jazz icons, Frank Layden and Thurl Bailey.

The event was planned and executed by the Lehi High School Sports Marketing students.
