SALT LAKE CITY — It's the time of year when everyone's fancy turns to new TV programming and the return of favorite shows. With fall lineups rolling out, it's time to set your DVRs, plan your viewing parties and decide what to do when you aren't watching football.

Here are a few things to look forward to on KSL this fall:

Saturday Night Live returns

While encore presentations of SNL have been airing on KSL as part of the network primetime schedule since last year, you can count me among those looking forward to seeing the show back where it belongs: in its regular 10:30 p.m. time slot on KSL.

The 39th season of the iconic sketch comedy show kicks off Sept. 29 with alum Tina Fey as host along with musical guest Arcade Fire. The departures of longtime players Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis means we'll be introduced to new cast members Beck Bennett, John Milhiser, Kyle Mooney, Mike O'Brien, Noel Wells and Brooks Wheelan.

The great Cecily Strong will make the sophomore leap and begin co-hosting Weekend Update with Seth Meyers, who will continue to appear on the faux news segment even after he takes over as the host of Late Night in February.

When to watch: Saturdays at 10:30 p.m.

The Blacklist

Could I interest you in a crime drama featuring James Spader playing an anti-hero role as an international criminal who teams up with the FBI? USA Today is calling the new NBC show the best drama of the fall, so it looks to be a good time.

When to watch: Mondays at 10 p.m.

The Michael J. Fox Show

After taking a long break from fulltime acting due to the onset of Parkinson's disease, the man who gave us the great Alex P. Keaton and Marty McFly makes a return to television. He'll be playing a character closely based on Fox's life, as a man named Mike Henry dealing with discovering he has, surprise, Parkinson's.

When to watch: Thursdays at 8 p.m.

The Voice

Fresh off winning an Emmy for best reality competition, NBC's singing show comes back for a fifth season with the return of Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton as judges.

When to watch: Mondays at 7 p.m.
